    Can't get Keihin carbs apart!!!

Well, I am working on my new to me 96 polaris slt-700, and have pulled the carbs (stamped 835) to check and clean, and it looks like they have never been apart. I have opened similar sets before, but these are not coming apart! After loosening the four screws covering the the needle/bowl, the carb cover just wont budge, almost looks painted together. I have pried all I dare, any ideas? thanks in advance.

you could try taking a razorblade and running it along the border of the two parts to break the paint seal.

also try gently prying from different areas on the cover because some areas might be more stuck than others and once you get it started comming off it should be easier to pull it all up slowly.
