    96 sl700 wont idle after carb rebuild! HELP!!

    I just purchased a 1996 SL700 that has the dual carbs (Keihin CDKII). The jet ski would not start without pouring gas int the carbs. So because the fuel pump is part of the carbs on this model I did a complete carb rebuild. Also changed all fuel lines/ impulse line.

    It will start if I open the throttle and keep running if I hold the throttle past 1/4 open, but it will just die if I try to let it idle...

    Also I noticed that gas is comming out of the little nipple at the top of the carb throat (didnt know thats where it shoots the fuel into the carbs, I thought this was where the oil was injected??), when I hit the throttle, gas comes out of these nipple, when I let off the throttle, no gas comes out of the nipple...

    I set the low screw to 1/2 turns out and the high screw to 1 1/2 turns out,,

    Your ski is equipped with an accelerator pump... that's why you see the gas spurts.

    As far as the idle, have you checked the idle stop screw to make sure it's engaged?

    is that the same as the low/idle adjust screw?

    if not where is the throttle stop screw at?

    you were right! ... so simple yet I overlooked it, The screw that adjusts where the throttle stops appears to have been backed out too far, when I turned it in a few turns it would stay running on its own and idle,,,

    now another question,
    are these 2cyl two cycles suppose to run so rough when at idle?
    It seems like it has a little miss and runs real choppy... if i give it some gas it will smooth out and sound great.

    I have a 2 cyl 640 tigershark and it does the same thing, when you hit the gas it smooths out and will fly but when at idle it sounds and feels rough.. any ideas?
