    motor mount shims

    Trying to shim up a 1998 GS. I was just wondering how much shim is stock for the motor mounts. tks

    "Stock" means when the drive shaft is perfectly aligned with the PTO (you'll have to do this yourself).

    Many of these skies were not even factory aligned, therefore it's important to spend the time (and money) doing it right.

    When I disassembled my engine I had to add some shims in order to get that shaft perfect aligned.

    To do it right you need a alignment plate to bolt up where your pump goes. Any other way you would not be as accurate. Go to SBT web site and under their tech section they have a video showing you how to do it. You can rent the alignment tools to do it right.
