Thread: Best Coolant

    Best Coolant

I know this has probably been drilled in.
I tried to search back but didn't find anything.

I've used engine ice in the past.
    http://www.engineice.cc/

It's supposed to be faster than a speeding bullet and leap tall buildings.
It don't remember noticing much change in speeds/head fade.

Was thinking of just using normal car coolant.
    What is everyone else using?

Is it worth it using the engineice ?

I use distilled water and water wetter during the summer then switch back to the regular 50/50 during the winter. I only lose 20-40 RPMs when heat fade sets in with the water wetter...........when running any coolant with antifreeze (engine ice included) i would lose 80-140 RPMs

I may have to try that.
I just use Prestone premix. It states good for aluminum blocks.

I don't ride much in the winter from what I remember I thought water wetter wasn't so good to leave in stored over the winter. Also I thought it's anti-corrosion properties weren't so good.

Is this true ? Would water wetter work to leave in all year and winterize and then change out ever 100 so hours.

Water wetter has no antifreeze in it......I just run it during the summer.....then use regular coolant/antifreeze to store.......I have ran it in my streetbikes for many years with no issues.......just get it out of there before it freezes

Looks like it works best with just water. No freezing here in FL.

Use distilled water it definitely will cool better. A touch of antifreeze in the mix is all you need. 80/20 mix

Coolant is coolant IMO. You're not going to notice a performance difference. Just get 50/50 premix and be done with it. Get a better thermo and some more airflow through the engine compartment. Or go open loop. I've heard water wetter causes our thermos to fail. Couple people on here mentioned that before. Quit using it and they never had issues again.

I must have missed the water wetter problems on here......I've got at least 10 skis running it here locally so I guess I will do a percentage of failures....we all have aftermarket thermostats and insane hull ventilation and we all have seen gains out of the water wetter compared to 50/50........open loop would not be wise as we ride in 100% saltwater all the time.
