Read Jerry's FZR thread. He will tell you to go with a hard break in to seat the rings properly and get the most performance out of your ski. Try a search. Plenty of info already out there.

Let it rip right from the start

Thank you for responding. Is there a difference for breaking a engine in for speed or reliability? I don't mind losing a 1 or 2 mph if the engine will be more reliable.

    Thanks again.

Lots of people say that if you break it in hard that it will be more reliable

    I agree!

    Warm it up!

Start with some 3/4 throttle bursts from a dead stop..... 10 seconds long

Do this 6 or 7 times.

Then do some wide open throttle bursts.... 10-15 seconds long

do this 6 or 7 times (from a dead stop)

For the first 3-4 hours ride around and have fun. Don't keep the throttle in one position for too long (5 minutes at a time, etc) Vary the throttle while riding. Don't be afraid to go wide open throttle.

    Have fun on that ski!

i just want to add, after you hit 15-20 hours on the ski the engine is very well broken in, i noticed (and others as well) a 1-2mph speed increase after 15 or so hours compared to the first few hours. have fun out there
