    Blow-Off Valve Concern

I was just reading the rules for the IJSBA for closed course racing. I want to race my FZR in the LIMITED class, however, one of the parts put me over into the OPEN class It is the blow-off valve.

Here is my question to you wrenchers: What risk am I taking by taking the BOV off for the World Finals? Is that too much of a risk pushing 16 PSI of boost with no pressure relief? For regional races I am okay with racing in the OPEN class, but not too pumped about that at the World Finals.

16 psi and no BOV is a recipe for a broken sprag clutch. Seem like some BS that just a BOV (necessary for engine reliability purposes) puts you into the open class.

Hmmm, the biggest supercharger wheel made to date for a fzr puts you in LIMITED class, but a valve to relieve the pressure off throttle puts you in OPEN class?

What class does the MOTEC you need to spin the 16# wheel put you in?

LIMITED. Basically Jerry's set-up is a limited boat minus the BOV.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Probably a reason for it, I just can't think of what it could be.

However, on the R&D website they have a "Pro-Limited Kit": http://www.rd-performance.com/perfor...prolimited.asp

And it looks like they have a relief valve that comes with the Intercooler. So I am not sure how they make the claim of a Pro-Limited Kit. Maybe they see something in the rule book I don't.

In that motec video with the guy romping that sho around the buoy's you can hear the BOV every 5 seconds. I'm sure that clutch appreciates it.
