I'm Confused, How do you get the carbon seal perfect????
I need to stop my carbon seal from leaking and cavitating, I am going to go buy a new carbon seal and boot tomarrow,
But I need to get my drive shaft aligned, I never did it after i put the new engine in, and it ate up my carbon seal, I see now I need it.
Dose seadoo rent a alignment tool? or can someone here rent me one?
or if you are in FL, Ill take my ski to you to use it. cause Im just tired of it.
The retarted dealer shop worker told me to just get it centered by eye. well that didnt work.
Or can someone show me their alignment tool and I can try to make one, but i'd need the specs to.

Alignment tool a must..just break down and buy it. Charge yourself $40 every time you use it and it'll pay in a year or two. You can't be so sure if a rental returns is straight. I got a "new one"that had a mushroomed end ( no doubt from a shipping incident) and it cost me two weeks before I could get a replacement ( hats off to SBT for the replacement btw, they covered shipping both ways too as I expected..I'm sure they got a lot of bozos trying to scam them on the tool rental also). The new one was perfect at half the price of the tool from seadoo or wsm.
even at a couple of cases of beer for a weekend loaner, you'll break even in no time. compared to the cost of a carbon ring ad downtime, it's without doubt a must have tool.

Here are a couple of options.
You can buy or rent the alignment tool here at SBT
Take it to my friends's shop Jet Trendz in New Port Richey, FL and just have him do it. He aligned my engine after my pump shoe install. I had cavatation and water coming into the hull due to improper alignment. He is out on vacation Today and tomorrow and will be back Monday.
Edit: Check out this thread. Should help with alignement. http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthre...ight=alignment

You probably have something rubbing on the acordian boot like a Big 12" intake tube. Alignment isn`t gonna cause the seal to leak taking into the fact that the motor was set back in with all shims where they were.
