What is the machined hole on the bottom left corner of intake port - 99 SLTH 700

Long title but what is it? When I took my reed stuffers out and was looking at the intake ports I see a machined hole on the bottom left corner. Not all engines have this.

If it's the hole I think you're talking about, (machined into the case itself) it's to prevent fuel "puddling".
