Looking for strainer options for R&D cooling kit oil cooler line
I'll be installing the R&D engine cooling kit & have been debating whether or not to install the optional oil cooler line that feeds from the visibility spout barb. Since it would be completely unstrained water I'm a little hesitant to use it, even though it would only be going through the oil cooler. I was thinking about using the Groco but didn't see any replacement options for the mesh basket. I'm not worried about sand & fine stuff, just the larger pieces of plant debris & such that could clog the line somewhere. Does anyone know if they sell them with larger mesh? If not, is it possible to drill out the included basket with larger holes to prevent sand & small debris from clogging it?

Looks like there are basket options: http://www.groco.net/Strainer%20Bask...ts-WSB-05.html .
I believe the one I got from Jerry's store was the WSB 750 model.
Nice idea with the filter on the gay-spray. How much do you think the strainer in the pump filters. The R & D billet strainer plate that came with the kit had holes pretty big in it. Maybe I'm underestimating vegitation. Still would be good to filter the water, though.

Thanks dude...I missed the big blue link labeled basket info. The R&D strainer will only filter out the big stuff, but keep an eye on your pissers if you're in an are with lots of floating vegetation. I use a similar one from Riva on my GPR & have had it clog on me before & overheat the ski.
I'll go to the HW store to see if I can find 3/4 NPTx1/2 barb fittings before deciding on the 500 or 750. I'll try it with the SS 20-mesh basket & see how it works.

same thing but you need your own fittings and brackets. I found all mine @ the hardware store.
Item 2P582 is the same as the Groco the seadoo guys use.
Note the 1gyd7 is to small I tried it because of the low profile.
