    Missing Supercharger Clutch??

I just got this JetSki and was told the supercharger is in good condition. I've taken it out a few times and thought it should be faster; only ran 62mph at 6KRPM. After checking these message boards I learned to check the supercharger for any play. It spun as free as a turbo would. After removing the supercharger to send to Jerry I found I was missing more than just the plastic washers. Has anyone seen this before?

    Welcome to the GH board.

Your issue is probably the number 1 issue with any SD supercharged engine.

You have a lot of clutch and washer trash in your engine. Now's a great time to learn to use the search function up top.

    It's an '05, right?

You have a shattered set of clutch washers, a shattered drive gear, and 40 needle bearings laying in the bottom (hopefully) of the PTO housing. Unfortunately, the engine will have to be removed.

It was an 05. I just realized the supercharger clutch thread has been done to death. But this is the first picture I've seen. So hopefully I've contributed something. I'll be removing the engine this weekend.

The good news is I'm sure Jerry will rebuild your s/c with the 2006+ kit and that will reduce the likelihood of another gear shattering.

You mentioned that you just got the ski, did you get it from a private party or a dealer? Regardless, it's bad Karma for whoever sold it without disclosing the damage.

wow, sorry to hear this. seems likely that the person you purchased the ski from knew this and BAM off to the next person...

Hope you bought the machine fairly cheap as it will cost a few bucks to do this properly...

Dont get scared. Removing the engine out of these things is a cake walk. Front and rear oil pumps along with PTO cover hold all the goods. Yank it after you get all your parts together. Its a snap.
