Metal Spacers. What are they for?

Hello all. There is a round metal spacer (approx 1/2 inches tall), secured rather loosley, underneath a hex head screw, thats damaged. I have no idea what its for and if its even needed.

Theres one on my pump housing, located next to the bottom left bolt. And theres another on top of my ride plate, in the very back of the ski, just to the right of the exit nozzle.

Can anyone tell me what those are for?

They are sacrificial zinc anodes. They help combat corrosion caused by electrolysis when leaving the ski in the water for extended periods.
