    Low Octane Gas

What are the options for reversing the effects of 80 hours of 87/89 octane in an RXP? and is the difference significant enough to care?

My '04 GTX 4-Tec SC has a 8.5 to 1 compression ratio. The non SC 4-tec's have a 10? to 1 ratio. At 8.5 to 1 I find I get very good results with regular gas. I go 60 with 2 people and problems at all. No knocking or pre-ignition. I would use high test in a 10 to 1 engine but I've had good results with my 8.5 to 1 using regular gas. 60+ hours. Not sure what compression the RXP has but it may be 8.5 to 1 like the GTX.

    What effects could there be???

The ECU most likely retarded the timing if engine knock was present, to reduce detonation. I would say that peaK performance was not felt with the 87 octane fuel, but prolly a little better with the 89.

If ther ski was experiencing damaging detonation, it would not have lasted 80+ hours...

pull the plugs and see is they are damaged by detonation...PR...

When an engine fails due to detonation/pinging, the piston tops and cylinder head combustion surfaces get erroded like little craters, I`ve seen rings lands on pistons get burned off, causing destruction in that cylinder...
