    Question 701/1100/1200... Same reed blocks?

Doing a search has turned up some people saying that the reed blocks from these 3 engines are the same?

I don't know if the 61X and 62T have the same reed block? If so, then I know now where to get what I need.

Are the 701 the same as the 1100 and 1200 reed block? If so, I can expand my search for some reed blocks.

    Help?

    Thanks

    J

Edit: keep saying cage when I mean to say reed block. Vodka.....lol

same, no. interchangeable, yes. 760 and 1200's are slightly larger reeds than the 701/1100's.

    Thanks

So then 701 and 1100 use the same reeds?

The blocks would also be interchangeable between these also? Just not the same dimensions?

The more I read... the more I confuse myself.

as far as I know, they are all the same mounting dimensions. it's the cage opening and reed petals that are different.

the 701/1100 use the same reeds but the 701 would be a 62T case and the 1100 a 63M. I want to say the 61x reeds are different I am about 95% positive that they are different but its been a long time

I have some 1200 and 1100 blocks sitting in the garage if you want to bust out a caliper and take a photo and mark on the photos where you measured I can compare the numbers

    JonnyB, thanks

I think so far, from what I have read, is that the diff. is the "depth" of the reed block assy. Meaning thay 61x assy does not sit in as deep as the others do.

If this is true, and also factor in that my R&D dual manifold moves the reed assy out further than stock location, I don't think that moving the reed assy in deeper would be a wise idea.

This is new territory for me. I have never played with reed assy location before.

..and to think....this all started with a set of rusty reed stops and my hunt for some good ones.
