High Idle After it runs a while

I have a 99 slth 700 and have recently fixed one problem after another. First it was a bad stator/ cdi so i did the upgrade, then it was overheating so I fixed the stuck thermostat. The problem I am having now is after I run it for about 25 minutes it will stay at a high idle 2500-3000rms. If I dont touch the throttle is will very, very slowly start to idle slowly but as soon as I touch the throttle it will die. I will have to choke it to get it started again. During the first 25 minutes it runs great and idles properly. Any suggestions on what this could be. I have taken apart the carbs and cleaned them. I also have sprayed starting fluid aroud all gaskets when it runs to see if the idle changes and it doesn't.Thanks

Does this sound like it could be the reeds not working properly?

Have you tried adjusting the low speed needles? Sounds like it may be leaning out a bit on the low end.

It just doesn't make sense that it runs fine for the first 20 minutes and then all of the sudden its has high idle. I would think that if the low idle was out of wack it would do it as soon as i start the ski.

This ski is giving me so many mixed signals. Now when I start it up it will go right to a high idle. I sprayed starting fluid around the carbs and all gaskets to see if there was an air leak but didn't get the idle to change. Anything else I could check. Thanks for everyones help.

Have you tried spray starting fluid (Ether - correct?) around the PTO crank shaft seal and the magneto cover?

Could the fuel pump be failing, or have a weak pulse signal?

Would not be reeds,Have youm looked to see if a carb plate is hanging up? When the engine get hot, the carbs bodies will swell some and can hang a plate up. K447,Remember that discussion on Sunday about the clamp collars?
