Can a trim motor slip under load?
My Pro1200 is showing some odd handling characteristics. Every once in a while when coming off a wave the hull will drive itself. It feels like a sponson got damaged and is dragging. The throttle response is also deadened, like too much of the hull is in the water. When I trim up, the jet spray shoots in the air but I'm thinking the trim motor is not holding the nozzle in position. I have dissassembled the trim and steering nozzle and the bushings have play but there were no loose bolts. Any ideas?

Where in Minneapolis are you located?...I'm in Eagan...I could stop by and look at it for you. Sometimes the plastic retainer on the push rod gets stripped after years of use and needs to be replaced.
