10mm but be careful as the bolt heads are very short and round easily! never use a worn old socket, I got a new socket and put it in the lathe then faced it back to remove the taper lead in at the entrance of the socket this gives it more grab on the bolts, (have rounded 1 and will never do it again) so be careful!

10mm 12pt socket. Get a good quality one, and be extra careful it's on straight when torquing down, or it will round the rod bolt, and be almost impossible to remove with out cutting, and maybe even have to buy a new rod. I got lucky and used an impact screwdriver with a slightly smaller socket to get it loose. Luckily I had a spare rod bolt to put back in it after.
