Thread: Seat Covers

    Seat Covers

I was hoping to get some feedback on the use of seat covers. I am looking at the Jettrim specifically but these are fairly generic questions.

    1) Seat color and Temperature - I know my stock silver seat gets hot. I want to go black but I was worried about heat. Also, is there a difference between the smooth vinyl, perforated, or suede versions as far as heat.

    2) Comfort - Do you guys like the suede type vinyl. Is it better for the seat or the sides?

    3) Water retention - I know the covers are not waterproof because of the seams. How much of a pain is this?

    Thanks for any input.

I would call Kelli at Jettrim. I had BLACK before. It is not bad at all. Throw some water on it and it is fine. It does not act like a sponge. I forget the material I have, but Kelli will know the name of it.

Here is a link to some pics I took of my seat: http://picasaweb.google.com/carlosan...eat=directlink

    seat cover

I also found the silver seat too slippery.
I just put on an all black all 'non slip suade' seat cover from jet trim.
It is chalk and cheese to the old cover... it transforms your riding and provides so much additional grip that I would do the same to any ski.

It is more comfortable and also cooler than the stock seat but, 'it is recommended' that you wear a wet suit.

I usually ride with a wet suit in winter & wet suit pants in summer so the grip provided is not an issue on bare skin for me.
I have tried this material in shorts on another SHO in summer. A casual cruise and had no problems.

Have had no problems with water retention... always stand the seats for one to two days after a ride.

I would love to see what a black SHO with all black seat cover looks like. Been wanting to do it for a while now.

I plan on installing the Red/Black Jet trim Seat cover on my 08 black SHO this winter. I think with the red accents it will look pretty sweet.

Hitman Check Out my ski. Its an all black jet trim with red stitches. I am very pleased how it came out. The quality of jet trim seat covers are second to none. I wish I had a little better pic because when its sitting on the water it looks even better.

For the asking. This is Riva's modified version of the stock seat cover.
