    Damaged intake grate on SL650

Hey guys, would a damaged intake grate cause sluggish performance and slower than normal performance? I noticed the craft is slow to get up and get going....engine sounds great but it's like the pump's not jetting properly. By damaged I mean intake grate bent inward from the bottom near the middle of the grate, and some of the grate fins bent/flattened out....shouldn't have let my friends take my ride out I suppose......sigh

Could also be cavitation. The pump shoe silicone seal goes bad and will give poor performance at take off.
