Question Buying a new Bore Scope...what are you using?

I want to be able to do more work at home, both on cars and also PWC, Quads, etc. I hate having to take an engine or the whole machine to work just to use the bore scope we have. So I think I am going to buy one for home.

It won't be some nice fancy one like at work, complete with wide screen monitor. Just something smaller with the ability to use an external monitor.

I am looking at one from Snap-On ( I know, over priced and built by someone else). It is model #5500 IIRC.

Anyone use this one, and if not what are you using? Any recommendations?

    TIA

What kind are you looking at, Mike?

The Snap-On guy should have this one for me to check out on Monday. I am trying to do my research now so I can decide in the next week.

at least when I bought it, it was the cheapest on the market. it gets the job done and you don't need to pay 300% snap on markup

search for a thread I started titled "piston wash" lots of input on scopes in there.

Looked at a few kinds in person and liked the Snap-On the best. Maybe I over paid (yes, I bet I did), but I won't worry about it once I use it and it starts saving me time and making me money.

I like it due to the screen size, it being in color, and its ability to get right up on something and still be crystal clear. The mirror is a nice add-on that helps see things you would not normally see.
