96 sl900 ignition update?
Ok I opened my box today to find out which ignition I have. The box had P.N. 4060180. The polaris website shows this ignition is from a 98 or 99 slt, sltx, or slxh. Is this an updated ignition or am I missing something?? This is a 96 sl 900 and I have been seeing the updated boxes haveing 447.

The 96 up date kit should have the 4010447 ignition controller in it. The kit # is 2873091

Polaris Domestic (red) engine
One way to check which version of the domestic ignition you have is to ohm check the Purple to Black stator wires, with those wires unplugged inside the electrical box.
Measure the ohms between the stator Purple and Black wires. Original version stators will read about 1200 ohms. Updated ignitions and 'new version' stators will measure about 5.5 ohms.

Thank you guys. I ohm tested the black and purple wire and got 1282 ohms. I guess I will be updating that this winter. I am in the process of replacing the fuel lines now.
