Any mercury marine mechanics out there???

I'm having an electrical issue with my 210 HP 2 smoke mercury power head. I have a cylinder that is not firing... I swapped out the plug and moved the coil pack and spark plug wire to another cylinder... and the same cylinder is dead All the coil pack wires run into an ecu looking thing on the side of the motor... sure hope that thing isn't the problem... no telling how much that damn thing is. PLEASE

Remove the top cover and flywheel if the stator it al rust and it probably will change it, normaly you loose a cylinder at idle and after it will start out of the water but not in it.

Good advice... I will check that out tomorrow. It idles pretty rough out of the water on a flush kit... I was really suprised with it only being one cylinder down out of six. With a timing light on this cylinder it only fires once every few seconds.

Not sure how the cylinders are numbered... but its the middle cylinder on the port (passenger) side.

My guess would be that there only using one cylinder... probably #1 for the RPM display

Before you buy a new Trigger try swaping the coil from the non-firing cylinder with the Coil on the top of the Starboard side and see if the cylinder still isn't firing.

I did that as stated in my first post... swapped the coil pack and plug wire... still dead on the same cylinder! Wish it would have been a coil... cheap and easy to replace... but thats just my luck
