    4-tec Pump on an FZR

    Anybody tried this? Dan?

Since the pump is the same as the GPR the adapater plate hydro made should work. Maybe some slight modification since the driveshaft is bigger on the FZ? Not sure. I just know the stock pump is worthless for that big motor, much less one approaching 400 hp. Imagine Jerrys ski if it could bite hard from the dead stop get go

my guess is that he is running the adapter w/ a pump extension. JD1 has always had mph in his pump setups and getting the hull out of the water.

    Questions:
    • What is the diameter of the 4-tec pumps?
    • Could a Magnum type pump be adapted to fit?
    • How far setback can the pumps go before there is no improvement?

159 mm but you can always install 162mm wear ring and impeller.

yes, the SD magnum pump will fit the adapter

2" is about as far as you want to go.

    Thanks Jerry.

So 171mm modified SD pump I heard about was probably a crock of poo .

This will be interesting reading for our yami's.

Any other comments or is Secret Squirrel still alive and well??

171 mm sounds a little far fetched

JD 1 plans to try a seadoo Pump on the FZR so we'll know something at that time.

I am trying a 160 mm setup (yamaha) and will be testing with a dynafly. I hope to have results on this in about 1 week.

Not sure what the driveshaft is like on the FZ compared to GPR. But since I assume it's different, the driveshaft will have to be custom adapted to the prop. Unless of course a custom 159mm prop with Yamaha splines is made. Otherwise, the Hydrojunkie SD pump adapter should fit fine. Just be prepared to grind the crap out of the rideplate to make everything fit.
