Thinking about trading up?
Hi everybody,im fairly new to the sport and i own a 2004 gp1300r.I have recently converted to premix so i dont have to worry about the oil lines comming off.My question is how long can a person go with one of these motors before a rebuild is needed.I have no engine mods besides the d-plate,wave eaters and couplers.I was thinking about trading it in for a 4 stroke, yamaha ofcourse because i want something that i can ride for along time without worrying about rebuilding it every 100 hours or so.My ski has about 70 hours on it right now.Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated, thanks.

IMO a stock motor should go well over 200hrs.

I was thinking about 400hrs, but it is all about how you care for and maintain your ski which will determine how long the motor will last before needing a rebuild.
why not just keep the GPR hull and drop a 4stroke s/c motor from an RXP or a FX SHO? That way you get that 4 stroke performance and reliability with a smaller (and better looking IMO) hull?
