    RAD 4 Zerk Thread

Does anyone know what thread the grease zerk is on the RAD 4 seal? Im trying to put a 1/8"NPT fitting in there with a hose barb for a remote fill line and it wont fit. Im guessing a british or metric size?

If it STD zerk it should be 1/16 NPT or 1/4-28
Can you measure the hole OD?

    Hole ID .341
    RAD 4 Zerk OD .382

    1/8" NPT is .395 OD

Measurements are approx as the threads are taper and its hard to get a good size

I want to use a hose barb. Almost tempted to drill this out to a NPT thread. Maybe its a 1/8" straight thread. Its so close to 1/8"NPT. I can get a 1/8" NPT to grab but then it stops right away.

BY putting a straight edge on it its looks to be a taper thread.

Must be BSP. You could run a 1/8 NPT tap to open it up. Should not need to drill it. Make sure you get all the chips out.

I was thinking about that, using a 1/8 tap and running through it. The hole is the right size. Your right about that.

I just dont know if the thread will be chewed up too much going from one kind to another without a smooth hole.

I will see how a tap fits.

OK. I got a 1/8"NPT tap and it threads right in perfect up to the bearing. Im guessing the RAD4 is 1/8 straight threads

I got the same unit as you, have no issues with a standard fitting...

And I just mounted a remote fitting...

post some pics of your remote setups peeps!!!
great idea for ease of maintenance, since you gotta grease the seal every ride.
