Locked Up Pump - Questions
I'm going to update both my SLs to the extended pumps. I just purchased two complete pumps + driveshafts, one being locked up.
I'm pretty sure the housing shrunk and is binding against the impeller on the locked up one. (Haven't received it yet, but I am pretty sure talking to the guy)
It also was ran in either brackish or salt water.
My question is that can i put the housing on the lathe and bore it out a bit for the impeller clearance and will it stop shrinking if I run it only in fresh water now?
Or once it starts shrinking, it won't stop?... so do I need to purchase an extension that is in good shape?

Once it starts it will not stop. It is corrosion forming from the inside.
