    Is Wear ring and Jet Pump Housing the Same?

    I need to replace my wear ring. Is the Jet pump housing #513121 the same thing? Thanks guys..

    It is referred to as the impeller housing on most OEM parts finder list. Did you inspect it? Is the tolerance between the impeller and housing to big per the manual? Don't order one if your not certain.

    Wear ring or Impeller housing?

    Hey thanks for responding...My problem is I am experiencing high RPM's but low thrust out of the hole and some cavitation at WOT. Sounds like a rev-limiter popping but when it hits plane, it takes off strong. It's a 2000 GPR1200 that has never had the wear ring replaced. I have not measured the tolerance but I also don't know how......Does it sound like I'm on the right track though? Thanks, Martin

    In the other thread I am the one who suggested to check the impeller housing/wear ring. You need to download the service manual from this site. All you need is a feeler gauge to check the clearance, once the pump is removed.

    Wear ring......

    I went back and looked at that thread...thanks for the info...From what I have been reading on here, it has to be the "wear ring"/"impeller housing" or "jet pump housing".....It just doesn't hop out of the water at all but it sure turns up the rpm's...I just don't have any experience yet working on them or diagnosing...This site has been great and you guys sure are helpful...Martin
