man you are lazy and cheap...
what is high temp gasket "lube"???, don`t use that red silicone...
just check to make sure none of the coating is off.
some of us use waterproof grease if the gasket is in good shape, but why take any chances your only planning on taking apart the pipe once right?

I used waterproof grease and all is well. If i had more down time while I was working on it I would have replaced with factory gaskets

andy ,you never know when you might need to take out the stinger, do i have move it or just the elbow to get to the flywheel for a 3 deg. ketway ?but thats for another discussion! BTW carl (ir racing)says you must replace gaskets on this but i think its just to sell them IMHO

Your gonna have to pull the motor out. The flywheel is gonna need a puller to free it from the crank. My garage is always open if need a hand.

Well if you can get gaskets by the time you need them....why not get them? I just overlooked mine at the time and got anxious and smeared grease on them. They are fine but I now have CDI problems....sadly another thread

I would replace them IMO. cheap insurance, I doubt Carl was just trying to sell you something though. There is not much markup on a set of exhaust gaskets. especially by the time you box it up and send it out..
