    need help picking parts - 06 gp1300r

hey guys i am thinking about selling my gp next season for a fz but might want to modify the gp for the remainder of this season - perhaps i will keep the gp if i am happy with the results.

i live on long island and ride 2-3 times a week in the long island sound. i don't think i have seen more than one day which i would consider glass...it is generally 1-3" chop. the days when it is "flat" it is still rollers and some small chop.

the ski feels like it has a very hard time staying "hooked up" - comes out of the water over any type of chop.

i've been doing a lot of reading but not really sure what the pro's and con's of the various popular parts/staged kits are...

i don't want to go 75mph if it means the ski will suck for everything else - same goes for i don't want it to be great out of the whole but suck on the top end...

i want the ski to be very versatile. i enjoy some small wave jumping - i like doing donuts and stuff like that - and some drag racing...

thank you for your help guys.

    Talking

i am sure others will chime in as well...

1200 grate ... for safety and hookup.

step the stock sponsons... free and helps holeshot

    pump tunnel re-enforcement... safety

free air mods ... open the other side of the cowling.

stock ride plate is good in the rough... increase the angle with some shims.

13/19 dynafly will give you a decent gain over the stock impeller with no needed engine mods

replace the steering nozzle with a metal one... can be oem yammi... i think they are all about the same.

get some metal trim tabs and experiment with shims

stuff and seal the pump shoe!

none of these cost too much and you will have a totally different ski when done.

also, d-plate for reliability... down the line.

    cheap mods

i agree with all of the above mods, but tunnel reinforcement might be too complex , and time comsuming and not needed, since your not going after any speed records, you get some great "air" with that gpr, being its only 655 dry wt.!

pump tunnel reinforcement is very important.

If you change the intake grate and put an after market impeller, its just waiting to crack and explode.

Plus it is really cheap to do if you go the DIY route. Just do not use polyester resin.
