Thread: STX Owners!!

    STX Owners!!

I am on a search for the right ski. I dfinatly want a 3 seater, but not a family truckster!
    I like the STX.
My question is, how reliable are they?
Not just the new 15f's but any of them from 99 to the present?
I am thinking 1100 or the 12f. I am also on a hunt for a 1200f, if I can fing one near by.
Also, can you stx owners tell me about them?
How fun are they solo? How stable are they 2 up?
See, I always have loves pwc. I used to own a 99 gp800.
I have been out of the scene for about 4 years. I am getting back into it.
I also have a young daughter who loves to go out for a ride with her daddy!
So, my ski has to be lots of fun by myself, but nice and stable when I have my daughter with me.
Oh yah, it has to be fast too!!!

personally i'd go with the 15f. its very stable, has plenty of power, engine is super quiet and it sips gas. it depends how much u wanna spend. i've seen some low priced 15fs

Wojo, where are you at? Excellent 15F here in SoCal w/33 hours. Dark blue and white, for 5400.
I have a 12F and think its a great ski, but I'd go with the 15 unless you find a smokin' deal on a 12. About 4-6 mph difference.

Unless you want a STXR you better get at least a 15f. They are both comparable and faster than anything else naturally aspirated in the Kawi line. You can go twice as far with a 15f on one tank of fuel than the STXR. They are fun alone, stable with 2, can tow anything and one of the most reliable skis out there. I now have over 300 hours on my 2004.

I do like the stx 15f!
What year did the start making that model as a 4 stroke?
I do like the 1200r! But the gas economy can not be beat!
So, you guys think I should stay away from earlier stx1100?
And hold out for a stx 15f 4 stroke!?
There is some nice deals on 09 for around $7000. But that is a little out of my range! I just want to pay cash and call it a day!

Ya know the 1100 stx was still a great ski in its day and still is. Takes off quick and handles good. Turns nice and fuel range is ok for a 2 stroke.

Although it is one of the rougher ride ski's when it gets choppy out.

It too can also tow but of course the 1200 is better all around for power.

Both are pretty reliable 1100/1200 not many problems when basic maintance is applied.

And can find them for good prices. $2500-$4000.

It really depends on what you can afford. If you can get a deal on a four stroke with low hrs go for it.

2 strokes are still cheap to run if a repair is needed but the four's seem to be pretty reliable so far.

You just can't beat the 15f, its stable with 2 or 3, handles great without any mods, is fast, very reliable , doesn't need alot of maintenace. Just a real good all around ski. Its a ski that you won't be trading in just because you think you have out grown it. I rode the yamahas, the sea doos, went for the 15f . I take my grand daughters out on mine and have never worried about it rolling over or any of that normal stuff. Its the most fun you can have. Its very playful, light, numble , Just can't say enough good about my 07. except maybe get another one when the kids get older. lol . God luck bud
