    Question 4 those w/a dry pipe on a 780...

How are you gaining enough clearance between the mag exhaust runner and the pipe to get the bolts to align? With the portside rear bolt in, the pipe is a little ccw of being able to get the other bolts in. What's the trick to getting it to fit? Grind on the runner? grind on the pipe? Both? None of the above?

When I tried the PSI dry pipe on my ride zzzzzzz, I ground the pipe and the manifold. That way I didn't take too much material from one to cause a leak.

    Ahh Crap!

Just so ya'll know. The outside wall thickness of the pipe is thicker than the wall thickness of the manifold. I was grinding a lil off of each at a time, and test fitting the pipe till I almost had enough clearance, and found I had taken a bit too much off the manifold.

Now I need to take the mani to the machinist next to my shop to patch the manifold, and maybe take a little off of the mating flange to drop the pipe to gain a bit more clearance. As it is now, I have about 1/16" clearance. If he needs to build up a bit on the mani, I may need more clearance still. I think I can take more out of the pipe if needed, but not sure how much more I can go and still be safe.
The trouble area is circled in red.

The 650 mani I have has a tighter radius than the 780.

I'm surprised you needed to remove, THAT much material.

I did a little off each and had about 1/16 between them.

How about a new manifold? I got one if you're interested.....
