    getting oil to motor

    i installed d plate removed oil pump installed block of plate drained oil tank tied up oil sensor plugged carbs put back together should i put oil in spark plug holes iand crank dont want to start up with straight gas in lines whats the best way dont wont to mess up motor havent tried to start yet mixed oil 32-1 put in gas tank how long does it take to reach carbs any help would be appreciated

    If you are worried about it pull the spark plugs and crank the ski for minute, let set for a minute, then repeat do this a few times. this allows fuel to be pulled from the tank while fuel from the carbs is returned to tank. I have always just went straight to the premix and run them myself.

    You should have run it on pre-mix before removing the injection system. Oh, well...

    Now you can get a squirt bottle (like a squeeze mustard bottle) and dribble oil into the carb throats while running it on the flush hose. It won't take a lot of oil, just dribble a little into each carb and go back & forth for a few minutes.

    i dont see how you can do that on a yamaha 1200 pv you cant even see carbs

    Oh. I haven't worked on one of those. Did you remove the oil lines that go to the carbs? I'm guessing that you did, but if you didn't, you could fill those lines with oil and hold them up vertically. Then, you could gently blow into the lines while the engine was running.

    Otherwise, I guess putting oil in the spark plug holes is your only option.

    Have you actually ever done this, and do you actually work on skis? Because none of that makes sense.
