When you have a cat still in you should be using the 2W

....try to find Mercury Marine's Quicksilver PWC full synthetic API rated stuff. That's the 2-w equal.

once you get a d-plate, what oils can you use?

EDIT: Would I be able to use the cheap stuff from Walmart? I think it is called Super Tech.

...with the d-plate you can run the TCW-3 oils. Wally's Super Tech meeting TCW-3 would work. I would bet though that most of us here run at least a semi-synthetic TCW-3 oil for our modded craft. To that end, I think something like Penzoil's semi-synthetic TCW-3 would be minimum standard for most of us gear heads. That's what I run in my stage 2 GP.

One argument for better oil (semi syth. and above) is the injection ratio's in the sticky above. If you add more fuel, you theoretically lean the oil mix ratio out. So you'd want an oil that is designed for at least 50/1 or otherwise leaner gas/oil ratio's. (There's another argument that suggests the controller, by virtue of it controlling/adding simply 'MORE', that that includes the oil portion as well, but not sure.)

    Clear as mud.....
