    New member intro.

    Hi Everyone.

I live at Lake Norman in Mooresville, NC. I was referred to this site by John Zigler at another forum and it looks like an active site for Polaris watercraft. I thought I was the only one in the world with one of these old ski's.

I had a Chaparral 2130 boat and stored it at the local marina up the street from where I live that rented Polaris ski's. He would buy six PWC's toward the end of the season at the year end clearance sale from a local dealer to rent them the following season. Toward the end of the season about mid September he would sell them off and purchase six more for the following year, which made good business sense. Anyhow, in early September of 2000 he sold me his pick of the litter of the six '99 SLTH's he had for $2,500. Being it was a rental unit it had it's share of battle scars on the hull and had 234 hours on the ticker. It made no matter to me since he kept them in good mechanical shape and in turn it made the ski's very affordable. I work a lot and love to ride my Harley so the ski was an afternoon pleasure craft after a hot day at work. I live one row back from the water but my neighbor is kind enough to let me keep it docked at his place during the summer. I didn't take time to put it in the water for the past 2 summers and finally put it in last week for the first time in awhile. I was worried I might have some problems but it ran fine until I broke the throttle control lever. I have a new one on order. and hope it arrives this week. So I'm sure I'll be lurking around here to gain tips and tricks to keep the ski running when she gives me trouble. So far for the last 9 years it has been very reliable.
