    1999 1050 SLX jetting

What is the stock jetting for my all stock (Hotseat water box) 1999 SLX?
Can I run leaner with no problems?
    What sizes if you do?

    1999 SLX
    Carburetor Type Keihin
Size 40 mm w/35 mm venturi
    Main Jet #140M#140C#135P
    Pilot Jet #65
    High Speed Screw None
Low Speed Screw 1 3/4 turn
    Idle Speed (in water) 1350±50RPM
Needle & Seat Pop Off Pressure 18-20 PSI
    Valve Spring 70 gram

I couldn't comment on changing the jetting to run leaner. Why do you want to do this?

Thats the problem, the high speeds I find all the same listing 140 140 135 but my has low & mid jets. Some say 65's some say 62's for lows. My mid I think is 35's but again that's the confusion some don't list the mids size.As for jetting down factory setting are usually very conservative just wandering if anyone jetting down & still runs fine.

I belive both K447&CrazyA & thats what I have found. One says 65's one says 62's pilots. What do I run.I have 65 in now. One other thing I bought a brand new set of polaris 40 carbs at a swap meet. The fellow didn't know what they were for. They are jetted 140/142/135-40/40/40-65/65/65 so I think they a for a 1200
My question can I run these carbs. I do not know the needle pop
off pressure or the valve spring pressure. I know I can just trade these parts back & forth but I would like everything new if possible
    Thanks

    400

    keihins

the 40's you bought are more than likely for a 01 slx 1200 by the jetting.the 99 slx should have 62 pilots 35 mids and 140,140,135 mains, different port timing between the 1050 and 1200 is the reason for the pilot and mid diff.
