    succesful oil change?

Hey guys decided to change my oil at the 50 hour mark and switch to amsoil fully synthetic, wanted to do the oil change myself as my stealer wanted 100 bucks just to change the oil. I syphoned as much oil as i could from the sump, after cranking it over about 5 times to try and ensure i got all i could out, i ended up with nearly 4 qts. I was quite sure i wasnt going to get any more out, so proceeded to top it up with the amsoil. I was thinking however i would get a little bit more out though. does this seem right to you guys?
    Cheers.

Yep, 4 qts is as much as you are going to get...put 4 qts back in it.

The most i get out of mine is 3.3 qts. If you got 4 full qts out most likely your oil was over filled to begin with. Make sure your oil is at a proper level once you get the ski warmed up.

I always measure what i take out and put the same amount back in.

If you take out 3 quarts of hot oil and put 3 quarts of cold oil in won't you end up with more oil since the oil expands with heat??

I guess after warming it up for only a few minutes on the hose the difference in density from the stuff you syphoned out to the stuff you put in is minimal..

Thanks everyone for your imput. One more question though, the small amount that cant be extracted from the motor was still a mineral oil, does it matter that i have mixed it with a synthetic?

You did good with the change and choice of oil.
I just changed mine and also used Amsoil and got 4qts oil out.

I believe you can mix the amsoil and reg no problem. I only got about 3 quarts out of my ski. But then I ran it with no drive shaft... That blew a couple quarts out and on top of that when I hit the water I had to add a bit more and left the filler cap off so.... Lucky me Im pretty sure I'm 100% synthetic now !!

I thought we weren't supposed to use synthetic with a sc motor?

Amsoil, I believe WCF, is OK to use.

Synthetic is fine as long as it doesn't contain friction modifiers. Amsoil has and oil that works perfectly in our skis.
