are 360's doable on the new waverunners?
I have a 2008 FX HO and when I try to do a 360 spin the front end digs in and I can only get around 180 degrees (Water usually comes over the windshield) I used to have an old Polaris 700 and full spins were easy to do. Am I doing something wrong or do these new sleds weight to much or is the Deep V hull the culprit?
Do I need to be going faster? (I usually try it around 30-35mph)

If I remember the Polaris 700 did NOT have sponsons on it. Those alone will make it more difficult to spin. If you really want to spin then set your trim nose down and give it gas as you try to spin. BUT DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

and this maneuver serves what purpose?

yes this is possible.. straight line speed then turn left right then throw it in tight and pull your weight over to the left when half way round you may need to lean back dependent on your body weight..
the faster you are prepared to go in the more chance you have of completing the turn..
if you do not go in fast enough you will either only do a 180 or the front will dig in to soon
the purpose of this manouver has not been established yet

Its probably your sponsons. I used to have a 97 sea-doo gtx and it used to do 360's all day. My 08 VX Deluxe cant really do them. I do find that it is helpful to lean your weight toward the front of the ski while turning. That should minimize the sponsons catching the water. Take em off and see what happens.

one of my newbie riding buddy's was doing this spin thing all the time, and it was on my ultra 150, I suggested he stop as he would get used to spinning and would get himself into trouble when we hit the bouy course....you gessed it, we were riding the bouy's and he spun out in front of me, I was laying back figuring this was gonna happen, so I zipped around him and kicked my tail so as to wall him over with water.....lol no more spins for him...I heard it cavitates and air's up the water so the cooling is not as good, but I really dont think it hurts anything unless you get run over on the bouy course.

Put the trim down and then kneel down in one footwell and turn into it. You will spin out.
