    Ignition problem waveraider

    I'm sure the answer is in the threads some where, but I can't find it. I have a 96 1100 Raider. I have very little fire on #1 (not enough to light the plug), weak spark on #2, good spark on #3. Runs on 2 cylinders, but I have a cold wet plug on #1. I replaced all 3 coils and have checked all the grounds and connections dozens of times. The pulser coils Ohm out at 31 each. Does this sound like a CDI problem to you guys? Please help. I'm about to loose my mind on this one.

    Waveraider CDI

    I have a very similiar problem I only have spark on one cylinder I tested everything else. Did you end up replacing the CDI?
    Did you purchase a stock unit 63m-85540 or did you find aftermarket?

    Before you purchase a CDI, try the following.

    Remove the spark plug caps and look at the wire in the leads. It's possible due to vibration and age that the wire is very brittle and has broken off at the end and is not making good contact with the spark plug cap. Trim the rubber insulation back until you get to some good wire and leave atleast 1/8" of an inch of the wire exposed and screw the caps back on. I have had to do this to many ski's over the years.
