    Smile Just got beat today

    Well to make a long story short. I went to the lake today with a 2003 GPR Riva stage 1 and a Kawasaki 260X called me out for a race which i did. It TOOK me real bad at first ( mine kept bouncing around ) 2nd race the water was more flat but i still lost but not that bad. I know i talked to couple of guys about getting my Heads Milled and Reed Valves in the off season but for now is this normal going against a supercharge ski vs my Stage 1 GPR or can i expect more from this??

    well, this is a video of me racing a kawi back in 07.

    supercharged skis will almost always blow a gpr out of the hole.

    I can't remember what mods i had back when the video was taken but I did beat the kawi top speed pretty badly.

    bolting on parts and thinking you will be faster won't work. there is a lot of tuning to do!

    what happen was my GPR kept wanting to jump out of the water. the Kawi stuck to the water...what kind of tuning do i are u refering to? do i need to adjust my sponsoon? right now my sponsoon are riding in the middle...by the way ur top end against that kawi was awesome

    The kawis have a bigger hull, which I think cuts through rough water "better" you should have pulled him top end though.

    You made sure he knew that he had 100 more HP than you, right?

    i want you to check to make sure your rideplate is not hanging down past the pump shoe (please let me know if this doesn't make sense)

    if it is hanging down it will drag water and cause you to jump out of the water.
    where was your tilt set ? you want it one click down if you haven't modified anything with the steering nozzle.

    do you have the stock grate on ? 800 grate ? 1200 grate?


    like dave said, his ski is heavier in the water so it will stick down better.


    what makes the GPR quick is the amount of hull that gets out of the water... if you ever notice- there isn't much touching but maybe the last 2 feet of boat.

    i couldnt really pull away with the choppy water but i did hang with him..LOL.. I did clarified with him that he has a supercharger and mines was all motor...LOL..Thanks for making me feel a lil better

    My Riva plate was, by quite a bit.
