    RXP engine rebuild

Hey guys, I finally heard back from the dealer about my hydrolocked RXP. They said the engine needs to be rebuilt as nothing in it will move.

My question to you all is, since I am going to have the engine apart should I do things like port it and what not like what greenhulk had done to his? Also the dealer wants to charge me $3000.00 to do the work. Does anyone know of another company that could possibly do it cheaper?

The way I figure is if I am going to have the engine rebuilt I might as well fix it up a bit.

    Thanks for the help.

Well there is no reasson to use stock parts now is there????

Lightweight pistons, pins, some head work, cam and gear.

I bet it would not cost that much more getting the parts yourself, and get the dealer just to furnish labor.

    Good Luck !!!

What happened to the OEM airbox with the watertrapping system??

I'd ask a few more questions about being covered if still within the warranty period.

I have used PPG, and had no problems, a lot of people like Mark Underwood @ RaceTech.
They are the only 2 places you can get the BRP stuff I think.

Either of the two would do a great job at building a motor as well and maybe your dealer could just do the install.

I would also clarify the warranty issue and make sure you are not getting the shaft.

I just spoke with Glen and he said he might be able to get it covered under warrenty. I just need to find a way to ship my boat to them.
