    Exhaust Temp Warning ?

I installed an R&D D-Plate with resistor chip on my '06GPR. The exhaust temp came on as soon as I started the ski and continued after hose water was circulating.

I removed the chip and plugged in the sensor and no warning. (after only 30 seconds)

Do I need the resistor on an '06? Will I get a different warning when I ride it?

My 06gp13 does the same thing. I called riva info line and asked them about it. They said the 06's do that.. Different software he surmised.. Too bad they dont tell you that before you buy it.. The tech guy at riva suggested i go to home depot and get a plug to plug the hole in the pipe where the temp sensor goes, and leave the temp sensor electrically connected and tie it up somewhere out of the way... Hmmmm,, did i hear him offer a refund? Nope... So to all out there with an 06,,, DONT BUY IT... It doesnt work and they know it....

    Thanx Nemo,

Why not leave it installed & plugged in? Will I have a problem when it warms up if it's installed?

If you leave the OEM cat temp sensor connected to the pipe, the overheat alarm will go off after 5-6 minutes of cruising at 55-60 mph. Mine will every single time..

This happened on my '06 also. So I unplugged the chip and the beeping went away for at least 10hrs but for some reason it started doing it again at mudbug. Never did get it figured out.

Thanx Vic. I bought my cruiser. It's an F#&$'n Animal. I've got 11 hours now.

YES, the seat is too wide but the angled foot well is great.
