RXP-X Owners - Have you experienced the overstuff issue?

RXP-X owners, have you experienced the overstuffing issue on your ski? If so, any insight you can provide would be helpful.

A few things I've seen on the topic:

    • Don't modify the stock grate
    • Trim down before decelerating
    • The back end of the ski feeling light/moving side to side is a precursor
    • Be careful in slight chop/one foot rollers coming at you
    • Keep in mind the accumulative effect of riding against a current
    • If you plan on modding, get an aftermarket grate as first mod
    • Be careful when using smaller nozzles/venturis (<83mm)
    • With an aftermarket grate, drill holes if you are approaching 77 MPH
    • Get pump tunnel relief if you plan on doing 80+ MPH
    Tons of info here:

Jarrett you have a good handle on this. Just don't forget about the 1 foot flat rollers coming at you at 5mph with the trim up, let off sometimes it will buck.

The real question is at what speed each grate will buck????????

Stock modified 77mph is it's favorite speed to buck.
    Riva ?
    R&D1 ?
    Worx?

REMEMBER TO TRIM DOWN BELOW HALF BEFORE DECELERATING.

The further the nose rises the faster it falls.

I have not had any overstuff,,,,,,,,,,,,,yet. I'm runnin a 4" Kana, free flow exuast, and a Riva grate, Riva sponsons (had them left over) and RE block offs. So far I have not had any issues, this winter I plan on installing a 15/22 and that it. I have a stage 2 and 3 standard RXP's for speed, as is the X beig stock for the most part is just to much fun as a wake jumper and general stock boat for me to justify modding it any further, plus I can regular fuel in a pinch, etc

My fastest on my RXP-X has been 81.9 with the R&D grate and a pump wedge trim all the way up and 82mm ring. I weigh 185 pounds. No sign of a buck with the 82 83 or 84mm ring. The back end of my ski seems a little loose with the 81mm ring above 80mph so I have stayed away from it.

Have you drilled the holes or done anything other than install the grate to avoid the buck at those speeds?

It was with a Stage 1 set up and Riva grate around mid 75. It did the funky nose dive buck hard as heck and tossed me into the bars and knocked the breath out of me and scared the leaving Sh!T out of me. It was right in front of Rays Dock on his ski and I every since then I have not been on anothere P-X besides S2R's. His p-X Feels real stable at 80.
It had a mild issue with Ray and if you know Ray he in no way needs a ski that might buck. He sold it the next week and bought his other RXP and made it do 80+ with no worries in the back of his mind.

As Of now I see the poll shows NO R&D grates that bucked?
