FZR 10 hr service (oil change): Only got 2.1 qts out. Should it be more?

Took my ski for the 10 hr service and when I did I asked if they would tell me how much oil they removed. Upon asking how much they normally get out he said 4 quarts. Well, I knew better - from this site - so I asked him to find out how much they "really" got out. Upon return for pick up he said "by the way we only got 2.1 quarts out, I was thinking of another ski, when I said 4 quarts".
Is 2.1 qts enough to clean out the old oil? Any problems with this? I think I've read here that you can get up to 3 quarts (I think).

I really don't want to do it myself, but I may have to....

    Thoughts?

I was able to get 3+ out - I had to force the tube in more after it initially stopped!

This topic has been discussed quite a bit in the past.

IMO the best advice you will get is to buy the oil extractor on the Green Hulk store and do it yourself. I did that (after trying it another way) and it literally makes it a 5 minute job.

I would do it more often because the extractor is so cool if that Amsoil Marine oil wasn't so expensive...

And I don't have any problems getting 3+ qts when I turn the ski backwards on the lift, placing the ski in a nose down position. Raise port or lower starboard side helps too. This can all be done easily on a trailer too with some pieces of 2 x 4's under the port tire.

I just finished changing the oil in our 08 vx today- first change. 9.6 hrs.

I used the K&N 303 filter and the 10w 40 Yamalube 4w, I purchased a Pela 2.5 litre vacuum pump and pulled out right at 3 full qts. I too lowered the front of the trailer all the way down to the ground. After running the motor on the hose last week for 5 minutes I sprayed the stock yami filter with PB Blaster right at the base gasket.

after sitting - when I went to remove the stock filter today (without the oil filter tool) I reached in and tried to turn it by hand ( Not ) Pulled out big blue pliers gave it a tug and it spun right off... The K&N has a 17mm bolt head which makes installing or removing it a breeze. No special tool required.

And it's better made than stock filter and cost less.

All went smooth no issues !

I know its been discussed in the past but I didn't remember if anyone said how critical it was if you just got 2.1 qts out. It basically means there was still 2 quarts of "dirty" oil still in there after the oil change.
God, dealer service is fricken worthless....

I guess I'm just going to have to do it myself....

    Thanks guys.

Ever been to the toilet and been interrupted half way thru a big groaner?

Doesn't really feel right, does it?

I think your motor might feel the same way.

Just change it yourself and do it every 50 hours of operation. Not the 100 hrs
as suggested by the mfg. And use high grade oil and that's it...
