having trouble pitching impeller.....it wont bend!

So I got a 14/19R from Jerry's store & took it for a spin....only turning 7700rpm max.....so I need to take out about 2mm......so I head to the vise with the prop & my trusty 15 inch adjustable wrench.....do my stock measuring.....each tip is at 8mm.....ok so I need to be at 10mm....slip the wrench with a rag over it and start pushing.....I will be damned if I can get it to move at all!!!! I am nearly putting all of my 230lbs on it & it wont budge!!!! What am I doing wrong???

I may just see if Jerry would put his magic dust on it....but I was hoping to ride today!!!!

Slow steady pressure??? or whack it with a mallet??? Any time I feel as though its going to move....the wrench slips......maybe tape the wrench & ditch the rag???? The alumin stocker was MUCH easier to bend.....SS it tough stuff!

    ditch the rag!

Steady even pressure. You will feel the blade flex and then bend. Practice makes perfect!

Put your A#@ into it. 9.5mm was the g-spot for my impeller.

    Got it!!!

Got it bent......WOW SS is hard to bend compared to aluminum!!! Got all 4 at a perfect 10mm.....put it all back together & hit the water.....results were awsome!!!!!! 71.2MPH @ 8050.....what a differance 2mm & 400 RPM make!!!!

I bet I can hit 72 on glassy water!!!!

Totally extatic about this....70 was my "goal" with mods & i am very pleased to be there!!!!!
