Suggestions on how to Disassemble & Clean Pump
I picked up a locked up extended pump with drive shaft for real cheap. Pump extension seems to have shrunk and locked up on the impeller. I plan to use the impeller because it is in mint condition.
Any suggestions on how to remove the extension without damaging the impeller? The only thing that comes to mind is jig saw? I guess I'd rather not scrap the extension... if possible
Also, the pump was either in brackish or salt water, what is the best way to clean up all the white spots on the pump. They are either corrosion pits or barnacles.

In my opinion,it doesn't look like the impeller is rusted to the extension. Is the stator locked up? (bearings)
Try to loosen the impeller (with an old drive shaft if need be)
The impeller does look recent, parts of the decal are stilll visible.
