    Leaking Head Gasket?

I got back from a ride today. Ski was running real well. Got home and began to flush the ski and found this......Salt disposits on the stinger and and the head. Could the gasket be leaking?

Is it a milled head or has the head been off before?
    Does the plug look ok?
If compression is good, i would run it on the trailer,in the water with the seat off and look for the leak. You might run it without the seat and get the pressure up and watch for a leak that way.Is your drive shaft coupler shroud on? Any water in the hull?

Its a milled head 150 comp and I re-used the gasket(installed in May), I'm pulling the plugs later tonight, and the shroud is on.

Did you re-torque the head after 1 head cycle after the install?

Always re-torque the head after a new gasket after a heat cycle! Its important to use a good Snap-on,Mac,Matco etc... torque wrench. I torque head bolts @ 25 ft lbs.

I re-checked the torque of the bolts and they were all 25 pounds. Also checked the spark plugs and they all looked good. Thanks Woody for that tip I didn't know you should re-torque them after its for heat cycle. Should I just replace the gasket and go from there? I dont have my compression guage tonight but i can check the compression tomorrow.

Might do the leak test on the trailer first at the water.. Water can come from some strange places.

Very true. I'll get out next weekend and do a check with the seat off and go from there. Thanks Woody
