    cavitation or s/c slippage?

I am getting more confident with my 2008 rxt. When I spin out, go back wards and hit the thottle hard all at the same time I hear what seems to be cavitation. It also happened when I had two buddies on and sunk the ski back wards into the water. Is this a common thing? And what are the consquences of this noise? Thanks for your help... bob

sounds to me like you came unhooked while doing the spin, If the rpms shoot though the roof you just unhooked and aint that a 2 person ski not a 3?

It is a rxt 3 person. I did not look at the rpm's but the next time out I will and ck the prm's. If the rpm's shoot straight up I surmize I came "unhooked". Will this do damage if done repeatedly?

It is cavitation from the pump sucking air. One of the consequences can be ruining your prop if you keep doing it. The best thing to do when you spin out is to let off the throttle and ease back into it.

Ask your dealer - acting like that is going to screw-up your ski. Just like taking an automatic car, going 20 mph in reverse and shifting into drive. Ride the ski correctly, or pay for the consequences. There is no way that I would steer my 15-k lbs Sea Ray 30 mph and shift into reverse... Ron
