    Pump Seals

I plan on rebuilding my pump. The bearings are no problem to find locally 6304 SKF sealed around $16 CDN each. Polaris Dealer 5 days - $28 CDN each - HA!

The seals are a bit of a problem, it was very hard to find them in 30x55x7 with a stainless steel spring. SKF CR series which I think is the most popular didn't have it. I finally got a Daemar Seal made from Viton with a SS garter spring for $16 CDN. Polaris $22 CDN each - one week - HA!

Now if I look online, they have rebuild kits for $50 USD. I just spent 64 CDN which is like $58 USD only on two seals and two bearings and I got a discount because my employer has an account with the bearing company.

How do they get away with selling the rebuild kit for $50? Anybody use it? I am guessing everything is really cheap Chinese Kwality Or, when I plan on doing my other pump do I just order a kit online and call it a day!

    K447,

The SKF part# for the seals on your site seems to be invalid. It gives an error when I enter it on the skf website

    Seals: Original part number 3610043
    (2 req'd) Replacements: SKF part number 11656
    Price: $4.95/ea

Part # 11652 is a seal of the same size but not stainless garter spring

If you'd like to add this to your webpage...

The seals I purchased are Daemar brand, part # 30557-DL-V.

Made in Viton which I think is one of the highest quality material for seals.
