    U.M.I. steering on a RXP

Well today Daren and me attempet to tackel a U.M.I. steering project. At first we were speckacle Because our friend Jacob took everything apart, and we were like ok, where to start. After the 1st hour we started getting it together. Finding missing bolts Jacob dropped into the ski while taking it apart. We saved him a few dollars instead of taking it to the dealer, not too mechanical inclined, anyways it looks nice. Daren(enufpwr) will snap pics tomorrow and will post.

Ok... we are still not completely finished with the install. Waiting for the ODI grips to arrive.

The instructions UMI sent us sucked. We had to fabricate a few things and cut the hull a little to make this work.

    Here are a few pictures.

That is very cool, is that a RX system or dedicated for the RXP?

You'll love the change, UMI rocks.

11 it's actually a GSX system with the RXP trim/start button. The only thing I wished they would have made was a housing for the mode/set buttons. I have them strapped to the start/trim housing. It works, but the best I could do at the time since they didn't come out with a housing to hold the buttons.

Eyaliz, Ya, that's the only system they have available right now for the rxp. I bet you love yours.

Actually the install was pretty easy just time consuming working on a jet ski and trying not to scratch the paintwork.. lol

We had to fabricate a few things..not much....took some more pictures of what I'm talking about.

The hood had to be trimmed a bit so the cable holders would fit.

The hood latch we had to add about 5 washers to space it up since the bracket was too short.

The mode/set switch we just tie strapped to the Start/trim housing.

All in all... nice set up. Bars are longer, and more up front.. Awesome feel.

    LOL Mike,

I have a cheap digital camera 2.0meg pix. It's not my money we are spending on this ski. I'm broke already with my ski's..lol

Sorry for the quality. I just compressed those pics... the orginals were 200+kb. I can upload them to the server if you want and post those pics instead of these if you want better pics. I just figured these would be more dial up friendly and load faster when viewed as attachements

So how much wider than stock are your UMI's?
