    RXT iS Mods

    My 10 hr service check has been done and I lost about 3-4 mph and it fell on it's face several times like it's running out of gas. I will call the dealer Tuesday and talk to service department. What questions should I ask. They will blame it on the impeller and wear ring that has minor damage on the loss of speed but it would still run 70 mph like it was but barely runs 66-67 now. After I'm through with the dealer my plans are;

    1. SS wear ring
    2. Let speedfreaks work on my impeller
    3. 4" Filter but I may have to do some creative routing due to lack of room
    4. Throttle body ported

    I don't want to go wild just hold my own with anyone on the river.

    Later, Ken

    I meant to put this in the Seadoo Performance Forum.

    Can someone move it for me as I can't delete it

    Thanks, ken

    Never fix an issue by adding mods. After a service check I would recommend checking the oil level. Dealers tend to overfill it and having it over filled will lower your RPM which will lower your speed.

    What are your RPM and speed on a GPS?

    That's what I planned on after the dealer gets it right I will do the mods.

    I always left the gps speed on display so I only saw the tach dial on the side but it was about 8100 rpm before and 70 mph when I hit 70 mph I always let off because I did not want to hurt it but felt like it had a little more if I kept on it. I ran it with the tach on display and went over 8100 rpm with right at 10 hrs on it and backed off because I was not that familiar with it and did not want to hurt it. Now after 10 hr service it does not pull as hard and runs 66-67 at 8040 rpm with the tach on the display. There are two new SHO's and a 260 that I just want to stay ahead of.

    sounds like they did something to the ECU that it limits your speed by GPS, explaining the dogging, however doesnt explain the loss in pull or how you achieved 70+ before

    There is no speed limiting going on through GPS or other means. Info is based on pre-production info and looks like it was never implemented. None of the people posting here with 'iS's have experienced a speed limit.

    Good luck on getting a RXT iS for 12k. I called around and no dealers were backing off the $14,999. They wiggled a little but the way they twist the numbers around it's not much. Also the iS models don't get any special extened warranty deals.
