    High Voltage

First off just want to let you guys know this site is the best, it is very helpful. I have a 1994 Polaris sl750 and when i was going through the mfd i noticed the voltage at 16.5-17.5. It is closer to 17.5 when wot. The battery is fully charged been riding it all season. Today i did disconnect the battery at 12:00 because that is the only way i can set the time on the mfd, but i dont think that would have made a difference. What is the normal volatge. Thanks

Normal voltage would be around 14.5V at high RPM.

The MFD may be off, try taking a reading with a multimeter.

Go to the tech section and look for the MFD reset.

My 2002 Virage was also showing high voltage 16.5 to 17 volts and I verified with a VOM. I did change the voltage regulator ( 505 ) and now peaks at 14.5 volts. I was having some display problems and hoped that was the problem but wasn't. Ended up being moisture in the display. I'm still glad I changed the regulator because I was afraid it might cause other problems. Good luck
